Commercial Director - Fund Services

Square Mile Connections is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Director - Fund Services to join a rapidly expanding Non-Banking Financial Institution based in London, UK. This role is ideal for a driven individual with a strong background in Business Development specifically within Fund Services or Asset Services. In this strategic position, the successful candidate will collaborate with the Service Line Leadership team and Corporate Directors to drive the generation of new business which will significantly enhance the Global Funds business revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Originate new business opportunities in alignment with relevant business strategies.
  • Achieve and exceed business targets, and assist in creating and implementing new business development initiatives.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the services offered by each jurisdiction, particularly in Global Funds.
  • Build a robust sales pipeline by identifying and securing new business in key funds distribution and servicing markets for both domestic and onshore funds.
  • Develop and maintain detailed relationships with both new and existing clients, focusing on long-term partnerships and profitable revenue generation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet business sales objectives.
  • Lead deal terms throughout the sales cycle and manage commercial negotiations within agreed parameters.
  • Regularly update the internal CRM system with relevant data.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures for maintaining pipeline information and financial analysis related to proposals.
  • Position the business to capitalize on upsell and cross-sell opportunities with existing clients.
  • Enhance the company brand and generate quality leads by attending and participating in industry events, producing thought leadership content, and conducting targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and manage a network of intermediary and third-party service providers to boost business opportunities.
  • Grow the reputation of the business as a reliable provider of high-quality services to institutional investors and other capital allocators.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in selling fund administration or third-party ManCo services.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of fund services.
  • Sales management experience within an investment bank, trustee, asset management or administration firm.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, enabling a consultative approach to selling.
  • Ability to lead and manage complex RFP and procurement processes.
  • Excellent presentation skills and strong communication abilities at all levels.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and IT skills.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to strict corporate policies.
