Overview:

Fantastic opportunity for an experience Business Development Specialist to join a thriving independent financial institution.  The successful candidate will join an established Business Development team and will act as a DCM subject matter expert.  This role will entail supporting new EMEA sales opportunities, originating and securing new business mandates across multiple asset classes and European jurisdictions, and boosting sales revenue of the company. 

Candidates will ideally have strong knowledge and experience of DCM related products and services, and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding agreed Business Development / Sales targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing business leads and introductions to potential new clients.
  • Assisting in developing and implementing the Business Development team’s business strategy.
  • Identifying services/products as areas of development to broaden the Company’s offering.
  • Attending client entertainment and networking events.
  • Attending relevant industry events.
  • Working closely with Marketing to create pitch material for presentation at client meetings.
  • Preparing and delivering fee proposals on new opportunities, liaising with internal colleagues to ensure consistency in pricing.
  • Assisting in improving client experience by following won mandates from inception to close.
  • Presenting weekly updates to the Head of EMEA Business Development.
  • Stakeholder management - Building/maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
  • Assisting in training less experienced Business Development colleagues.
  • National/international business travel as required.

Skills/Experience:

  • Strong business development and sales experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of DCM products and services.
  • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Good understanding of loan and bond markets.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as using own initiative.
  • Existing contacts within banks, private equity houses, specialised fund managers and law firms - beneficial.
  • Language skills beneficial.
